Terms & Conditions
The following terms apply when using this website:
- Registrants must provide true and accurate information. Profiles with false information will be removed.
- This website is only for matrimonial introductions within the Vadar community. Commercial advertising or misuse is not allowed.
- Registration is not possible unless the groom has completed 21 years and the bride 18 years (Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006).
- What the membership fee is for, and when it is refunded, is set out in point 2 of "Clear notice about responsibility" below.
- The final responsibility for choosing and verifying a partner rests with the families concerned. The Sanstha only provides introductions.
- The Sanstha is not a party to conversations, meetings or disputes between two members or two families. However a member's legal rights in respect of a deficiency, fraud or negligence in the Sanstha's own service remain intact. The detailed limits are set out in "Clear notice about responsibility" below.
Clear notice about responsibility
This website is a platform that introduces brides and grooms within the Vadar community. Members should clearly understand the following.
1. The information is the member's own; the Sanstha verifies nothing
- Every profile is created by the member concerned, or by their family on their behalf. The Sanstha publishes that information exactly as received.
- The Sanstha does not verify name, age, address, education, occupation, income, property, caste, health, marital status, criminal antecedents or character.
- The Sanstha does not verify any document, certificate, horoscope or photograph. Photos and text pass only through an automated (AI) first filter, so that obviously improper material can be excluded. That filter does not establish that the person, their identity, or anything they have stated is genuine.
- Profile text is automatically translated into the reader's language, and a member may write their own description with AI help. The words you see may therefore not be the member's original words.
- A profile goes live as soon as it is registered. An admin looks at it afterwards and removes it if anything is wrong — it is not checked beforehand.
- The green ✓ mark means only this much — an admin looked at the profile once and nothing looked wrong on the face of it. It is not a certificate of identity, of documents, or of character. Mobile verification means only that the number was with that person at the moment of registration.
- The Sanstha does not push any proposal ahead of others, does not recommend anyone, and takes no money for doing so.
2. What the membership fee is for
- The one-time membership fee is consideration for one thing only — access to view full profiles and the contact details that members have themselves chosen to publish.
- It is not payment for verification, enquiry, mediation, matchmaking, or any assurance that a marriage will result.
- Once contacts are open the fee is not refundable. However it will be refunded in full if money was debited but membership did not start, if there was a double charge, or if the Sanstha closes an account for a reason not caused by the member.
3. Verification is the responsibility of the member
- Contacting, corresponding with, meeting or proceeding with any proposal is done entirely at the risk and on the responsibility of the member.
- Before any engagement, any exchange of money or jewellery, any travel or any marriage, the member and the family must satisfy themselves by inspecting original documents and by making enquiries in the person's village and workplace.
- A first meeting should not be alone; it should be in daylight, in a public place, and with family elders present. Never hand over money, gold or original documents to anyone met through this website.
4. The Sanstha takes no responsibility for any proposal
- The Sanstha takes no responsibility for any proposal, or for the conduct, truthfulness, solvency, health or intentions of any member.
- The Sanstha is not a party to any conversation, meeting, engagement, marriage or dispute between members or their families. Any such relationship is exclusively between the persons and families concerned.
- The Sanstha provides, for a fee, the service of making an introduction, and in respect of that service the member is a consumer. However the Sanstha does not recommend or guarantee any particular proposal, and does not act as a marriage broker, guarantor, witness or mediator for any marriage. Nobody may hold it out as such in its name.
- Responsibility for fraud, false information, a dowry demand, harassment or any offence rests with the person who committed it. The right of a member to pursue that person is unaffected.
- Where the Sanstha is found liable for a deficiency in the service it actually agreed to provide, its total liability to that member is limited to the membership fee that member paid. This limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Sanstha. Nor does it curtail the power of a Consumer Commission to award compensation under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
5. What cannot be excluded
- The limits above do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence by the Sanstha itself.
- The rights of a member under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 remain intact. A member may complain to the consumer commission where they ordinarily reside.
- The responsibility of the Sanstha to keep personal data secure cannot be excluded.
- If any term above is held to be unfair or unenforceable, only that part falls away; the remaining terms continue to apply.
6. Complaints and help
Complaints about a profile, about conduct, or about your personal data should be sent to the Grievance Officer of the Sanstha — the name, address, email and phone are given below. Every complaint is acknowledged within 24 hours and decided within 15 days. Complaints about private photos, nude or morphed images and impersonation are acted on within 24 hours. If you have been cheated, you may complain at a police station, on cyber helpline 1930, or at cybercrime.gov.in.
